verbindungsetappe: 14,29 km

Video Task 3/Stage 3

This time, it will be a departure directly from the Bivouac, enabling the competitors to have that little extra rest and their assistance to see the vehicles leaving. This special sector, combining speed and navigation will cross mountain chains, dried out lacs and numerous military stations. The beginning of the stage won’t be too difficult thanks to tracks marked by cairns. Nevertheless, the Moroccan tracks are ruthless and tire problems will disrupt the ranking. Competitors will have to remain reasonable if they do not want to lose time. The end of the stage will be challenging when arriving towards the Oud Draa. The arrival will be set on the outskirts of the city of Assa.

Today the raid class started at the end. 12:39 the GPS track of Angelica stopped after 56 km. At 19:15 we received an all-clear on demand from the organizer «all ok she still drives». Shortly before 22 o'clock then a picture with the comment of Angelica: «That was just about the limit to drive today! But very exhausting. Now I write roadbook for the next day, have some food and then sleep.»
The Iritrack (track recording / transmission data) soon gave up the ghost. Likewise, the satellite phone. Some cars drove up and got lost, and so we lost 1:30 until we found everyone again. The track was awesome, I made 155 km special like the «big ones» and not bad at all. The quad had to suffer a bit, but the mechanics are now going to tighten the screws. Until tomorrow, the problems should be solved.
